SAP India catalyses nation's SME boom
Continuously expands SME portfolio; SAP offerings deliver instant and long-term value to SMEs
BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP India, a subsidiary of SAP AG, has reported software revenue growth of 43 percent in the first quarter of 2008. According to a recent validated industry data, SAP India has reported highest growth rates in small and medium enterprise (SME) software revenues of a single region for SAP worldwide.
According to Praveen Sengar, senior manager, Software, Services and Industry verticals Research, IDC (India) Ltd., “SAP India has emerged as a leading player in the small and midsize enterprise space with 27 percent market share in revenue terms during CY 2007 in India Enterprise Applications.”
This industry endorsement of market leadership comes in the wake of a strong momentum built over the past year. This period saw 1,500 new customer wins, establishing a strong foothold in the Indian small and midsize enterprise market and a customer base that currently stands at 2,300. The established SAP portfolio includes SAP Business One for companies with 10 to 100 employees as well as SAP Business All-in-One for companies with 500 to 2,500 employees.
“Our growing customer numbers clearly show that we have the right strategy of supporting small businesses and midsize companies in their quest for success and growth,” says Ranjan Das, President & CEO, SAP Indian Subcontinent. “I am confident that as we continue to foster this growth with our focus on the small and midsized sector, we will remain the trusted partner of choice for them.”
Fast-Start program for SAP Business All-in-One encounters prompt success in India
With over 30 customer wins across verticals and multiple go-lives in the first quarter of 2008 alone, SAP’s Fast-Start Program has seen an incredible response in the Indian market. Designed to deliver rapid business results with a fixed price and fixed scope, the program targets midsize companies in the manufacturing, services, and trade industries. It provides them with pre-configured industry-specific processes needed to streamline and gain visibility into their core business operations.
Coupled with SAP MaxDB, the SAP database product, and free choice of operating system, the offering helps to lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) for the on-premise business solution. Innovative online configuration enables prospects to tailor the solution to their business requirements and receive a comprehensive cost estimate for the complete SAP Business All-in-One solution. Customers benefit both from the established SAP solution as well as the industry-and country-specific know-how of qualified local SAP Channel partners.
